Crunchy 25 sheets Pistachio-Walnuts Baklava !

Crunchy and delicious homemade Baklava filled with pistachios or walnuts of your choice.

It is easy and quick to prepare with baklava sheets from shop, with nuts in the middle part, that separates the upper crispy layer of crusts and a lower layer that absorbs the sherbet and gives juiciness to the baklava.

A sherbet with less mildness and a rich taste of melted butter for perfect mild delight.

For this lovely dessert you will need 1 kilo or 25 baklava sheets, butter and nuts of your choice (walnuts or pistachios) or if you can’t decide on one flavor like me you can split it into two halves.

From one serving you will get 12 to 16 pieces of baklava.

All the details about this delicious homemade baklava follow below.

The required preparation time is 30 minutes

Ingredients for Baklava

1 kilogram of baklava sheets

200 grams of butter (melted)

300 – 400 grams of chopped nuts

 

For sherbet/syrup

450 grams of sugar

340 ml of water

1/2 lemon

Preparation

Cut the sheets into a round shape the size of the bottom of a round casserole dish. Divide the crusts into two halves.

Melt the butter on low heat and coat the pan. Then start with adding of two sheets on the bottom and brush with butter. Line up two crusts and brush each second with the melted butter until half sheets.

Then spread the chopped walnuts or pistachios in the middle part and place two sheets again. For a nice volume of the baklava, arrange 25 sheets and finally cover them with the butter.

Cut them into 12 or 16 pieces. Bake them at 180 degrees for about 15 to 20 minutes until they get a golden surface. After you bake them, let them cool down.

Prepare the sherbet from the water and sugar.

After the sugar has dissolved, stir occasionally until the liquid is transparent. Once boiling, reduce heat to medium-low and stir occasionally. Add the juice of half a lemon and let it simmer for ten to twelve minutes.

Before pouring the cooled baklava, let the sherbet cool down a bit, not immediately while it is boiling.

Let the baklava soak up the sherbet nicely for a few hours.

Finally, sprinkle chopped walnuts or pistachios on top of each piece.
