Ingredients
- 1 cup rolled oats (finely ground)
- Water (for soaking + 2 cups for cooking)
- Coconut milk (or your choice: cow’s, almond, or oat milk)
- Spices to taste:
- Cinnamon
- Cloves
- Nutmeg
- Ground ginger
- Sweetener of choice (optional):
- 2 tbsp honey
- Stevia
- Sugar
Preparation
- Grind the rolled oats in a blender or food processor until you get a fine, flour-like texture.
- Place the ground oats in a bowl, cover with water, and let soak overnight in the fridge or at least 2 hours at room temperature to soften.
- Once the oats are soft, add 2 cups of water and bring to a gentle boil over medium heat.
- Add your chosen milk and spices, stirring for about one minute, then remove from heat.
- Blend the mixture in a blender or, even better, with an immersion blender until completely smooth and creamy.
- Sweeten to taste when serving with honey, stevia, or sugar.
