Meat from snails is known as one of the healthiest meats because is low in fats and so rich in proteins.

Also is known by many healthy benefits  for individuals in sport, or this meat can help if you want to get in perfect body shape and loose weight.

Combined with cooked rice can be full meal as lunch.

This meatballs are traditional macedonian recipe that my grandmother was making for me and other grandchildren’s when we visit here home for summer holiday’s.

Snail meat cooking

For this recipe is better if you can find cleaned and frozen meat of snails because is ready for cooking and much easier. Before cooking take the meat from the fridge 15 minutes earlier and leave on room temperature.
Preparation in wok pan is best way for snails.
Add wok pan and add olive oil. Chopped onion and garlic and cook until onion is transparent and softened.
Cook for short time and transfer in plate.
In same pan add snails and cook them on high heat for 5 minutes.
Season with salt, pepper, curcuma, smoked paprika and dry parsley, onion powder, garlic powder.
After five till ten minutes they will start to smell amazingly.
At the end, add one cup of water and leave them on medium high heat to cook for another 5 minutes.
Add cooked onion and garlic in the pan and cook until the water evaporates.

cooking rice

Cooking rice can be made in same time while you prepare snail meat or earlier before star making snail meat.
it depend how you feel easier that's way you can make it.
For one cup of rice need tree cups of water.
Im using traditional rice that requires a lot of water.
After ten minutes when is ready leave on baking paper and transfer in the fridge to cool for making meatballs easier.
When is cool you can start preparing meat balls.

Preparing and Frying Meat balls

When snails are cooked blend them in blender, and mix well with cooked rice.
After you make the meat balls prepare and mix two eggs in plate.
Prepare bread crumbs and flour.
Every meatball roll first in the flour, then into egg and in bread crumbs in the end.
Fry into olive oil on low medium heat.
Serve in the morning with yogurt.
