Baked Pears with Fresh Burrata

Dessert fruit that reaches true excellence when paired with fresh cheese – burrata. This unexpected yet perfectly balanced combination of flavors creates an elegant dessert that leaves guests with the impression that it was prepared by a true kitchen professional.

This dessert is simple to prepare, served chilled, and not only delicious but also a healthy choice.

For best results, use a firm pear variety such as Santa Maria, as it is less juicy and holds its shape well during baking without releasing excess liquid.

Ingredients (Serves 2)

  • 2 pears (Santa Maria)
  • 1 small fresh burrata
  • 30 g butter, cut into cubes
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (or brown sugar)
  • 2 tablespoons honey

For decoration:

  • 50 g chopped walnuts
  • 50 g chopped dried cranberries
  • Fresh mint leaves

Preparation

Slice each pear horizontally into three pieces, about 2 cm thick (or four slices if the pears are larger). Arrange the slices on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Place a cube of butter on each slice and sprinkle with sugar.

Bake at 180°C (350°F) for about 25 minutes, checking occasionally. The pears should be tender but not overbaked.

Once baked, allow the pears to cool completely.

Assembly & Serving

Place one slice of pear on a dessert plate as the base and add a small amount of fresh burrata on top. Repeat with the remaining slices, using a moderate amount of burrata and only a little of the creamy stracciatella to maintain structure.

Drizzle each pear slice with a teaspoon of honey, sprinkle with chopped walnuts and dried cranberries, and finish with fresh mint leaves.

Enjoy this refined yet effortless dessert! 🍐✨
