Delicious baguette with sesame seeds and grape syrup, simple and quick preparation.

All you need for this bagel is flour, lukewarm water, dry yeast, salt, sugar, baking powder and some oil. Knead the dough once before baking and once in the beginning for ten minutes. Below are all the details for preparation.

Dough Preparation

Start with adding salt and baking powder into sifted flour.
Then activate the yeast, and in another bowl add lukewarm water and sugar. Stir to melt the sugar and add the dry yeast. Allow the bubbles to form for ten minutes and add them to the flour with a tablespoon of sunflower oil and knead the dough.
This bagel dough is firmer than usual. Knead the dough for ten minutes to soften it slightly and became more smooth. Then divide it into six or eight pieces depending on how many bagels you want to get in the end.
After dividing the dough into pieces, roll each piece with your hands to an elongation of about 15 cm.
For better preparation add sunflower oil at every pieces. After you finish allow them to rest for ten minutes so that you can shape them more easily.
Add oil to the kitchen work table and roll each piece with your hands to a length of about 60 cm to 80 cm.
To prevent the dough from tearing, adding oil while kneading will prevent and also make easier the stretching.
Finally fold long dough in half and make a shape of braid.
Squeeze the ends together by hand and knead two to three times on the part where they are joined to smooth the dough.

Add three tablespoons of grape syrup to a saucepan and dilute with 100 grams of water. Once it boils, set it aside, and prepare the sesame seeds on a plate.
Soak each bagel for two to three seconds in a bowl with the syrup and drain. Warm liquid will help every bagel to rise better. Then smear the bagel in sesame seeds from every side and from the inside too.
If you do not have grape syrup you can use honey in the same ratio or granulated sugar that you will caramelize (burn) and dissolve it with boiling water.
On a baking paper add the prepared bagels and let them rest before baking, so they should ripen and grow.
Cover them with foil and a kitchen towel in the end.
Depending on the room temperature, it is enough to rest for about 30 to 45 minutes.
Bake in a preheated oven at 190 degrees for 18 minutes, until they get a nice dark golden color.
