If you are looking for a delicious and easy recipe for preparing delicious liver, then I am happy to share my mother’s recipe, that I know to prepare very often.
The delicious and juicy sauce has a characteristic mild taste that perfectly complements the liver, and at the same time it is excellent for dipping with bread.
Simple recipes with few ingredients can very often give a very nice result and be really tasty, and this recipe is one of those wonderful old recipes, with a small difference that I know to add a little turmeric powder because it is very healthy and I use it often.
Necessary ingredients
500 grams of liver (lamb/chicken)
1 onion (medium size)
2 carrots (grated)
3 cloves of garlic
2 red tomatoes (medium size)
olive oil
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon of red pepper
salt to taste
50 ml of water
Add a little olive oil and one finely chopped onion to a pan. Fry on low heat until it softens nicely.
Then add the lamb liver in pieces and the grated carrot and fry well on low heat. At the end, add the chopped garlic and fry briefly. You can add turmeric and red pepper to taste, along with salt at the end.
Mix all the ingredients briefly to even out the spices and add the tomatoes. I usually blend the tomatoes to shorten the cooking process and get a smoother texture for the sauces, but you can also add them chopped if you preferred. Pour a little water at the end, somewhere around 50 ml is enough and let it boil on medium heat until the sauce thickens. You can optionally add 2 dry bay leaves while the liver is cooking.
Serve the hot liver with a bread of your choice and enjoy the taste.
I believe you will agree with me, but it is tastiest when it is served with a bread to dip into the sauce.
Have a good appetite! Cheers!
