A pie made of crumbly dough that can be prepared in 15 minutes, simple, without a mixer, with a filling of chopped apples and walnuts.

If you like the smell of apples and cinnamon in your home, and a warm and crunchy dessert that melts in your mouth, I recommend you try this delicious pie.

For the dough, you need one egg, butter, flour and sugar (brown or granulated sugar, the choice is yours).

For a lovely aroma, you can add vanilla extract and cinnamon to the filling.

If you prefer a healthier variant, you can make the filling with honey and brown sugar, or just granulated sugar in the same amount.

 

As a mold for the pie, you can use a diameter of 24 cm or two smaller ones.

Use half of the dough as a base, add the filling in the middle and cover the surface nicely with the other half of the dough. All details follow below in preparation.

Filling Preparation

Wash and cut 4 apples into cubes. Do not peel the skin of the apples because it will give them additional flavor and color. To prevent them from darkening, squeeze fresh lemon juice over the apples, add cinnamon and chopped walnuts and set aside.
In a pan on medium heat, add 100 grams of brown sugar and two tablespoons of honey and stir until they melt. Optionally, you can use granulated sugar in the same amount as brown sugar.
When the sugar melts, add 30 grams of butter, fresh juice of half a lemon, vanilla extract and two tablespoons of starch. Mix briefly until the ingredients combine and add the chopped apples with walnuts to the filling.
On medium heat, stirring, let the apples soften and the flavors combine.
Five minutes are enough to get a nice creamy filling with a nice aroma.

Crust preparation

n a bowl, beat one egg, 80 grams of brown sugar (or 80 grams of granulated sugar).
Beat the egg and sugar with a whisk and add 100 grams of butter at room temperature.
Be careful at this point, and do not use melted butter, but slightly softened at room temperature.
Mix them until you get small pieces of butter, not completely melted, and add 280 grams of flour and tbsp of baking powder.
Mix the ingredients with your hands without pressing to get a sandy and crumbly dough that you can shape in the baking pan.

Baking

In a pan with a diameter of 24 cm, line the bottom with baking paper.
Add half of the dough to the pan and spread it nicely on the surface, you can use a cup or just press it with your hands because the dough has butter and is easy to shape.
Press the edges of the dough with your fingers and then add the filling.
Spread the apples evenly and sprinkle the rest of the dough to cover the apples nicely.
Bake in a heated oven at 180 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.
While it is hot, you can take the pie out of the mold and serve it.
