Directions
Chicken breast with a rich aroma and taste of orange, a portion with a citrus sour-mild taste filled with crunch in each piece.
The preparation of this protein meal, ideal for dinner or lunch, will not take you more than 15 minutes.
Cut the meat into smaller pieces lengthwise and marinate it briefly, then prepare the orange sauce and batter for coating the chicken.
For two servings you need two pieces of chicken breast and one orange.
Freshly squeezed juice in combination with other ingredients will give the meat a sour-mild taste.
The necessary ingredients are enough for 2 servings.
In addition to this portion, you can also prepare cooked basmati rice or regular short grain rice.
Fill from the rice in an oval dish coated with oil and press well. Serve the rice shaped like this directly on a plate together with the prepared chicken.
You can pour the sauce over the rice or serve it separately, the choice is yours.
The ingredients are described in detail and added in order. First prepare the marinade and let the meat stand while you prepare the batter in which you will coat the chicken and the sauce.
Chicken Marinade
1 tsp corn starch
1 tsp salt
1 tsp of water
1/2 beaten egg
Orange sauce
Freshly squeezed juice from 1 Orange (medium size)
1 tsp white vinegar
2 tsp sugar (coconut/granulated)
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp corn starch
1 tsp oyster sauce
Batter for Chicken (for coating)
3 tbsp flour
1 tsp of baking soda
1 tsp corn starch
1 tbsp of oil
1/2 beaten egg
6 tbsp of water
Preparation
Mix all the ingredients for the marinade listed above, until they are well combined and even, and add the chopped chicken to them. Leave it aside to soften briefly while you prepare the batter and the sauce.
Then prepare the orange sauce in a separate bowl. Squeeze fresh orange juice, add the rest of the ingredients to it, stir until the starch dissolves well and there are no lumps, and set aside.
Finally, in a separate bowl, prepare the batter for coating the chicken. Add all the ingredients and mix with a fork to combine. The batter for the chicken is similar to the batter for crepes, with the difference that it is slightly thicker.
Preparation will mostly take more time, but it ends up being pretty quick once it’s prepped.
Add enough cooking oil to a pan or you can also use a deep fryer.
Heat the oil nicely and at a moderate-high temperature, coat each piece of chicken in the batter on both sides and add the chicken pieces to the pan one by one.
Don’t add them all at once so they don’t stick to you.
Fry them on both sides until they get a golden-yellow color, when they are done on one side, turn them to fry on the other side.
Remove the fried pieces on kitchen paper to absorb excess oil.
Finally, prepare the orange sauce.
Add a tablespoon of oil to a clean pan and then add the mix of ingredients from the freshly squeezed juice to the pan, mix briefly at a moderate temperature until it starts to thicken.
Add the prepared chicken pieces to the pan with the sauce and mix them in the sauce.
Sprinkle with two tablespoons of sesame seeds of your choice and remove from heat.
Serve in a bowl with rice or just chicken.
Have a good appetite!
