🟡 Best Pears for Baking:
Use Bosc or Anjou pears — they hold their shape beautifully when baked and have a sweet, fragrant flavor that pairs perfectly with honey and nuts.
🟡 Ingredients:
For the baked pears:
- 2 Bosc or Anjou pears, halved and cored
- 2–3 tsp honey (or to taste)
- A handful of mixed nuts (walnuts, almonds, hazelnuts), chopped
- Optional: small knob of butter or coconut oil
For the toasted topping:
- A handful of nuts (almonds, cashews, walnuts), roughly chopped
- 2 tbsp dried fruits (goji berries, pomelo, or raisins)
To serve:
- Ice cream balls (vanilla or your favorite flavor)
🟡 Instructions:
- Preheat the oven: to 150°C (300°F).
- Prepare the pears: Halve and core the pears. Place cut side up on a baking tray. Drizzle with honey and sprinkle some chopped nuts. Add butter pieces if desired.
- Bake the pears: Bake for 40 minutes until soft, tender, and lightly golden.
- Toast the nuts and dried fruits: In a dry pan, lightly toast the remaining nuts with dried fruits for a few minutes until fragrant.
- Serve: Sprinkle the toasted mix over the baked pears. Serve each half with a scoop of ice cream.
✅ Tip: A pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg on top before baking adds a lovely warm aroma.
